- Explain to a stranger what do you do for Green Steps?
Because of my experience with sustainability and children holiday programs, I want to leave a ´chaos game´ for Green Steps behind, that focuses on the SDG´s and is made for classes or groups of children in Austria. Otherwise, I’m supporting Green Steps with my German knowledge with groovy garden, the film viewing of “TOMORROW” and the Mitmach Konferenz from 20-22 of September 2024.
- What is your daily routine? What is something you like doing and your coworkers maybe don’t know about you?
I arrived right before the flood in September 2024 in Herzogenburg, so I started without a daily routine. But I like to explore the ARK more and start the nature guide training very soon. I personally want to explore Austria as much as I can, in these 4 short weeks, because time flies by sooo far ☹

I´m from Berlin and originally wanted to go abroad for 6 months. But while planning, I realized, that I´m not ready to quit my job and be away for so long, so I decided to go on holiday for a month. I found workaway 3 years ago, when I wanted to go abroad after my bachelor's degree, but covid has upset my plans. And when I got only rejections from projects in Italy, I decided to focuse on the projects, not only the countries. And then I found Green Steps in Austria, which aligned perfectly with my master´s degree and my experience with nature education and my wish to explore a country, I´ve never been to.
- Mention a book you read as a teenager that still tells something about you, and that you would still suggest reading.
In school we had to read “Die Schachnovelle” (Chess story), which is about a prisoner of the nazis in solitary. It is written so vividly and evocatively that readers can feel the loneliness and despair the author describes. I enjoyed both the style of the book and the compelling story and gained even more awe for isolation.
- How do you expect you and Green Steps to have an impact in the next years? Close with a wish for the organization.
I believe that Green Steps will grow and reach more children inside and outside school, because children define the future generations and the future of our earth. In my short time, I could be part of that with all the Green Steps projects. I, myself, will go home and have a lot of new ideas and experiences in my head to check out new careers or projects or establish my own organization.
